About the academy
About Your Spanish Academy
Your Spanish Academy (YSA) was founded by Miriam Navaces, a Spanish teacher with a degree in Hispanic Philology. The academy teaches Spanish to adults who speak English: travelers, remote professionals, people moving to Spain or Latin America, and learners with Spanish-speaking family.
Every class is private and online, so students join from anywhere in the world. Each student keeps the same teacher, and the plan changes as their Spanish improves.

All classes last 60 minutes. You choose a single class or a pack after your free 30-minute trial class, and pay by bank transfer or PayPal.
Classes run Monday to Saturday on Spanish time (CET). You can move a class with at least 12 hours' notice. Invoices are available on request.

A single 60-minute class costs €45 for General Spanish and Spanish for Specific Purposes, and €28 for Conversational Spanish. With a pack of 12 classes the price drops to €30 and €20 per class. You choose a single class or a pack after your free trial class.
How do I pay?
You pay by bank transfer or PayPal. Invoices are available on request.
Who are the teachers?
All our teachers are native Spanish speakers with experience teaching English speakers. The team includes accredited DELE examiners and Spanish philologists. You always work with the same teacher.
What levels do you teach?
All levels, from complete beginners (A1) to advanced learners (C2) on the Common European Framework of Reference. Most of our students already have some Spanish and want to speak with more confidence.
How long are the classes?
Each class lasts 60 minutes.
Which platform do you use?
Classes take place on Google Meet. You receive a link for each class and can join from your computer, tablet or phone.
Can I take classes if I live in another time zone?
Yes. Classes run Monday to Saturday and are scheduled on Spanish time (CET). In the free trial class we find a regular time that works for you.
Can I reschedule a class?
Yes. You can move a class if you let us know at least 12 hours in advance.
How does the free trial class work?
The free trial class lasts 30 minutes. You can book it through the contact form or on WhatsApp at +34 722 513 637, and we send you a few time options. In the trial class we look at your level, your goals and your schedule.
I'm not a beginner, but I still struggle to speak. Is this for me?
Yes. Many of our students know a lot of words and grammar but freeze when they have to speak. Classes start with conversation, so you practice using what you already know.
What kind of Spanish do you teach?
We adapt to your context. If you are moving to Spain, traveling in Latin America or speaking with family, your teacher chooses the vocabulary and expressions you need, in a formal or informal register.
Can I take just one class per week?
Yes. One class per week works well if you keep it regular. Your teacher plans the classes around the time you have.
Do I get support between classes?
If you want it, yes. Your teacher can send you short practice tasks between sessions and give feedback on recordings or quick questions. All materials are included.
How is Your Spanish Academy different from a tutor marketplace?
On a marketplace you choose a tutor from a long list and each tutor works in their own way. At Your Spanish Academy you join a small team led by its founder, keep the same teacher, and follow a plan built from your trial class.
How are your classes different from an app or a group class?
Every class is 1 to 1, so you speak for most of the session and your teacher corrects you as you go. The content follows your goals instead of a fixed course.
